Shocking Discovery: Missing Tourists and Local Players Found Dead in OBX Outer banks….see..more…

BREAKING: One Body Recovered in Outer Banks, Not Multiple Tourists or Players

A recent search in the Outer Banks has tragically concluded with the discovery of one body—not multiple tourists or local athletes, as some circulated rumors suggest.

On May 16, the body of 49‑year‑old Carlson “BJ” Johnson—a Kill Devil Hills resident—was discovered by a local fisherman approximately two miles offshore, north of Oregon Inlet, following an extensive search after he failed to return from a fishing trip with his dog and boat . Authorities confirmed the body was Johnson’s and have launched a preliminary investigation into possible boating accident circumstances .

Johnson was reported missing after leaving Oregon Inlet on a 17‑foot Maycraft boat at around 11:45 a.m. the previous day. His dog and boat remain missing . Aerial, marine, and volunteer search efforts spanned over 36 hours before his body was located.

Despite swirling rumors online about multiple tourist and local “player” fatalities, there is no credible evidence supporting those claims. Authorities have only confirmed Johnson’s death. The National Park Service and local rescue teams are not reporting additional missing persons tied to this event.

This incident marks a somber moment for the Outer Banks community. In recent years, the region has seen similar tragedies, often involving drownings or accidents at sea. However, there are no indications of a wider casualty incident among tourists or local groups .

If you’re planning a visit to the OBX, keep in mind that the area remains safe—but always exercise caution, especially when venturing offshore or swimming in unfamiliar waters. For now, the only confirmed fatality relates to Johnson’s boating trip, and no others have been reported or connected.
