The documentary, tentatively titled The Foundation of Zac Brown, borrows its name from the band’s iconic debut album, The Foundation. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Ava Thompson, the film will feature interviews with Brown’s family, bandmates, and collaborators, offering a comprehensive look at his multifaceted life. From his humble beginnings in Georgia to headlining sold-out stadiums worldwide, the documentary will also address the challenges Brown faced, including personal struggles and the pressures of balancing fame with authenticity.

Netflix’s decision to spotlight Brown is part of its broader effort to document the stories of influential artists across genres. “Zac Brown has redefined modern country music while staying true to his roots,” Thompson said in a statement. “This documentary is an ode to his artistry, his humanity, and his legacy.” Fans of the Zac Brown Band and music lovers alike are eagerly anticipating the release, which is expected to include exclusive performances of beloved hits like “Chicken Fried” and “Colder Weather,” alongside unreleased material.
