Former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka is prepared to tackle the world’s very best at the Australian Open 2025. She returned to the tour last year after the birth of her daughter and rekindled her partnership with her former coach Wim Fissette. However, the two parted ways towards the end of 2024.
Mouratoglou as her new coach in September, and he’s currently by her side in Melbourne as well. The two tasted immediate success, and she advanced to the fourth round of the China Open, a WTA 1000 event, in their very first tournament together.
Unfortunately, an injury forced Osaka to throw in the towel halfway through her match against Coco Gauff. She started the 2025 season on a strong note by reaching the final of the ASB Classic. She even won the first set against Clara Tauson in the championship round, until another injury forced her to call it quits.
