Contrary to recent speculations, Tadej Pogačar will not forfeit the upcoming 2025 Tour de France. UAE Team Emirates has confirmed that the Slovenian cyclist will spearhead their squad in the prestigious race, scheduled from July 5 to 27.
Pogačar has had an impressive 2025 season thus far, securing victories in several Spring Classics, including Strade Bianche, Tour of Flanders, La Flèche Wallonne, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. These achievements have solidified his status as one of the leading contenders for the Tour de France.
The UAE Team Emirates roster for the Tour de France will feature a strong lineup supporting Pogačar, including Juan Ayuso, Adam Yates, João Almeida, Marc Soler, Pavel Sivakov, Nils Politt, and Tim Wellens. This ensemble aims to provide robust support across various terrains and stages, enhancing the team’s overall competitiveness.
Pogačar has expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming Tour, stating, “It’s already my fifth time coming to the Tour, and I’m really excited about it. We’ve worked really hard all year as a team to prepare for this, and we hope we can give everyone watching three weeks of exciting racing.
Following the Tour de France, Pogačar plans to defend his World Championship title in Rwanda in September and may participate in the Vuelta a España later in the year, depending on his condition and the team’s strategic decisions.
With a formidable team and a series of strong performances leading up to the Tour, Pogačar is poised to be a central figure in the 2025 edition of the race, aiming to add another prestigious title to his already illustrious career.
