Vols standout James Pearce Jr. declares for NFL Draft following record-breaking season.
Tennessee Volunteers defensive end James Pearce Jr., an essential player in the team’s revival, declared his intention to enter the 2025 NFL Draft on Wednesday. The 6-foot-5, 243-pound star announced the update on social media, officially concluding a remarkable college career.
Pearce, with one year of eligibility left, leaves behind a significant legacy in Knoxville. Listed as the No. 23 overall talent by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr., Pearce had been among the top five prospects earlier this season. His performance and adaptability have placed him as the No. 3 outside linebacker prospect, just behind Penn State’s Abdul Carter and Georgia’s Mykel Williams.
