Netflix to Release Documentary on Rock Band The Alkaline Trio in March 2025
Netflix has announced the release of a highly anticipated documentary about the legendary punk rock band The Alkaline Trio. Set to premiere in March 2025, the film, titled From Here to Infirmary: The Alkaline Trio Story, promises to delve into the band’s two-decade journey through the underground punk scene and their rise to mainstream recognition. Directed by acclaimed documentarian Emily Hayes, the project combines rare archival footage, in-depth interviews, and never-before-seen performances to provide a comprehensive look at the band’s legacy and influence.
Formed in Chicago in 1996, The Alkaline Trio—comprising Matt Skiba, Dan Andriano, and Derek Grant—built a devoted fanbase with their raw lyrics, dark humor, and infectious melodies. The documentary will highlight key moments from their career, including the creation of their iconic albums such as Good Mourning and Crimson, their challenges as an independent band in the early days, and Matt Skiba’s high-profile stint with Blink-182. The film also explores the personal dynamics within the group, their creative processes, and the enduring connection they have with their fans worldwide.
In a statement, Hayes expressed her excitement about the project: “The Alkaline Trio has inspired countless musicians and fans, but their story hasn’t been told in a way that truly captures their heart and grit. This documentary is a celebration of their music, resilience, and impact on the punk rock landscape.” Fans of the band are eagerly awaiting the release, with many hoping it will spark renewed interest in the group’s extensive discography. From Here to Infirmary: The Alkaline Trio Story will be available for streaming globally on Netflix starting March 15, 2025.
